Bind-It Radioactive Decontaminant
For the safe removal of all isotopes of Iodine from all surfaces including sensitive gamma counters parts, even detectors.
Bind-It Decontamination Fluid has a unique affinity I123/I125/I131. This strong ionic attraction binds the radioiodine and suspends it in solution so that when combined with water it becomes a sudsing cleaner that "lifts" dirt and residual radioiodine off surfaces so it can be easily wiped away.
Bind-It Decontamination Fluid is safe for use on delicate gamma counter detectors and gamma camera heads.
The Bind-It products consist of concentrated cleaner and hand soap designed specifically for removal of radioactive iodine.
Bind-It is different than other radioactive decontaminants. Other decontaminants are designed to remove a wide array of isotopes. Most isotopes are electrically positive. Radioiodine is different as such, most radioactive cleaners actually REPEL, rather than bind and remove radioiodine. Only Bind-It is designed specifically for the unique properties of radioiodine. Only Bind-It will remove radioactive iodine safely and effectively.
Further, while many other radioactive cleaners rely on harsh chemicals to decontaminate, Bind-It is non-corrosive. It will not harm the delicate metal housing of well counter detectors or thyroid probes.

Hand Soap
Bind-It hand soap has a unique affinity for radioiodine. This strong ionic attraction binds the radioiodine and suspends it in solution so that it "lifts" dirt and residual radioiodine off skin so it can be easily rinsed away.
Bind-It hand soap effectively but gently removes any radioactive radioiodine that may have gotten on your hands or body from handling I131 capsules or RIA tubes.
Bind-It hand soap contains moisturizers to leave your skin smooth and soft.
Bind-It hand soap is available in a convenient 32 fluid ounce pump bottle.
Post Nuclear Procedure Use
Bind-It products are ideal for both institutional and patient use after administration of I131. Since I131 is most often administered in excess of expected thyroid uptake, the body goes through a natural cleansing process where excess I131 not taken up by the thyroid is eliminated over the course of several days. Bind-It decontaminant and hand soap are both ideally suited for cleaning hospital patient rooms and washrooms.
For patients going home after their procedure, Bind-It can be used for home cleanup as well. In the washroom, Bind-It concentrate for toilet and sink cleaning, as well as Bind-It hand soap. Also ideal for shower, floor, towels, bed sheets, etc. Using Bind-It can reduce potential exposure to family members and pets in the home.
